Trash bin cleaning in Hollywood

Between the beach, the Broadwalk and a housing stock that goes back to the 1920s, Hollywood gives a trash cart every possible way to go bad. We clean, sanitize and deodorize bins across the city, and we tidy up before we leave.

On the ground in Hollywood

Why do Hollywood's older alley-kept carts end up in the worst condition?

Hollywood Lakes and the streets around Young Circle hold some of the oldest housing in south Broward, and with it some of the tightest service alleys. Carts in this part of the city are often kept in a shaded side yard or a rear alley, sometimes shared between neighbors, and they can go years without ever being rinsed. Those are the bins where the residue is no longer loose debris but a hardened layer bonded to the plastic — which is what the heat in our system is for. Pressure alone knocks material loose; heated water is what breaks the bond and kills what is living in it.

East of Federal, the beach neighborhoods add salt and sand to everything. A cart a few blocks off the Broadwalk collects a gritty film that holds moisture against the plastic, and the constant humidity means it never fully dries between collections. West in Emerald Hills and Hollywood Hills, the lots are larger and carts usually sit on a driveway or beside a garage, where the issue is straightforward Florida heat — a sealed plastic cart in full sun runs far hotter inside than the air around it, and that is the engine behind both the smell and the flies.

Hollywood also has a large share of duplexes and small multi-family buildings where several households feed one set of carts. Those bins fill faster, hold more organic waste, and are the ones that most reward a recurring schedule rather than a one-time clean.

Hollywood questions

Asked and answered

Can you clean shared bins for a Hollywood duplex or fourplex?

Yes, and those are usually the bins that need it most. We price by the number of carts, not the number of households, so neighbors splitting a set often split the cost. Call 954-594-1666 and we'll work out the schedule.

Do you service the beach neighborhoods east of Federal Highway?

We do — including the streets off the Broadwalk and around North and South Lake. Access is usually the only wrinkle; if your cart lives behind a gate or in a rear alley, let us know when you book.

Will hot water damage my Hollywood city cart?

No. The carts are high-density polyethylene, rated well above the temperature we use, and we hold the wand at a working distance rather than against the wall. We clean the interior, the lid, the rim and the exterior.
